Andrew's Farewell

On January 13th at 9 am, Andrew gave his farewell address at our church. He shared his testimony of obedience and the reason he wants to serve a mission. Afterwards, we had a get together with family and friends at our home in Draper. Andrew felt so much love and support. Because of the generous donations he received, he was able to buy his $600 bike for his mission. He was truly humbled by everyone that came to support him. Thank you!

Blessings of the Temple

Andrew took his endowments out at the Jordan River Temple on January 4th at 5:30 pm. We had several family members that were able to attend and it was a wonderful evening. The church had recently made some changes to the ordinances so it was exciting to see how inspiration comes to our living prophet. Family that was able to attend were, Kellert and Jill Greenlaw, Hayden and Alexa Greenlaw, Jessica Greenlaw, Jim and Carol Ann Shepherd, Brian Shepherd, Lisa, Megan, and Jacob Farnworth. Afterwards a few of us went to Kneaders for some dinner.

The Mission Call

Andrew Torrey Greenlaw - 19 years old

My son, Andrew, has always wanted to serve a mission. After working really hard to prepare, Andrew was able to turn in his mission papers to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

The church has recently changed their policy on receiving mission calls. They are now emailed to the perspective missionary. Andrew got a text from the church that said his call had been assigned and that he could open it on lds.org. We gathered together and he opened his call on our iPad.

 Where is Andrew going to serve a mission? There were a lot of guesses in the US.

"You are hearby called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of 

Latter-Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Louisville, Kentucky Mission".

Andrew has worked so hard to get to this day. It is proof of the type of man he is. He is determined, fearless, obedient, loving, and truly amazing! We couldn't be more proud of him. Andrew leaves for his mission on January 16, 2019. He will go to the MTC in Provo, Utah!
